Preservation of the Cretan Diet: A Multifaceted Approach for the Preservation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Crete.
The Cretan Agri-Food Culture is a living heritage that embodies sustainable living and community well-being with respect to the natural environment and biodiversity. It is shaped through an integrated socio-cultural and economic framework that includes traditions, agricultural practices, food habits and ethical principles rooted in the history and geography of Crete. It could be described as an innovative business framework strategy, despite its ancient origins. It incorporates, by its very nature, the modern principles of Environment, Society and Governance (ESG), making it a visionary model that is aligned with modern standards of sustainability and ethics in business.
